The Prism 4-D Superlight/Ultralight dual line stunt kite makes kiting a blast when nothing else will fly. The 4-D's 58 inch wingspan makes small spaces big so you can fly in tight quarters with ease. At barely 2-1/2 ounces, its super-light weight gives it the buoyancy to stay aloft in swirling breezes and even indoors, where walking backwards with short lines provides enough lift for a huge range of graceful aerobatics. The 4-D’s predecessor, the 3-D, set the world endurance record for indoor flying, and the 4-D improves upon it with more pull and stability as well as a much wider wind range that’s truly impressive for such a lightweight kite.

But super light doesn’t have to mean super-fragile. The 4-D’s high-modulus frame is made from solid carbon rather than delicate tubes, super-stiff but tough enough to bend in a circle without breaking. So this is a kite you can fly in regular winds too, up to 15 mph without overpowering or worry about breakage.

The 4-D is meticulously constructed from ultra-light Icarex polyester sailcloth and Mylar laminate for gossamer weight and a sheen like a cut gem as it passes in front of the sun. Its Microcarbon frame folds to just 23” and fits in a beautiful padded case that you can sneak into any pack or suitcase. To make it a cinch to put together, we designed a clever little wingtip fitting that instantly tensions and de-tensions the leading edge with no knots to fumble with. The bridle is clean and simple with limit knots so you’re always within the adjustment range. And the included 50-foot Dyneema flying lines are the perfect length for smaller spaces while still allowing a generous wind window. If you like to fly indoors, there’s room in the case for a second, shorter lineset so you can hone your skills on those cold, dark winter days.

In the air, the Prism 4-D dual line stunt kite has the precision and presence of a much larger kite. The line feel is balanced and responsive without being twitchy like most small kites. Its light weight and buoyancy makes it forgiving in turbulence and gives you time to recover as the gust passes. For freestyle fanatics, it’ll do a huge range of tricks without the heavy feel of many trick kites. While it takes smaller motions to fly, you don’t have to be an expert to have a blast, making the Prism 4-D the perfect addition to any kite bag. Comes Ready-To-Fly with kite, line and travel case.

I have to admit, when I saw the reviews on this kite I was a tad apprehensive. I've basically only ever flown lightweight kites and was looking for something to replace my old tired girl. most reviews mention how 'flimsy' this kite is. let me assure you for her weight she can take a beating out doors. which is all I've flown her in. with gusts of 7 or 8 mph no less.

in a situation where the wing is next to nil she fly as graceful as Prism promises.... even better i would say. give her some.gusts to play in and she dances all over the window with the speed and precision of a hummingbird. My 'suggestion' of movement in my fingers had onlookers gasping in pleasure. And when I crashed there wasn't so much as a scuff on the paint job.

All in all a grand buy and i highly recommend this kite. Your audience will love seeing you in the sky on your own and her beauty will give a command performance in the heavens on those days that everyone else will WISH they could fly.

A day of bliss

I live in the NC Piedmont - land of hills and dense tall trees - meaning, no wind. I bought this at the VA beach store but didn't get to try it out until my next beach trip, the only place I can find clean wind. I've had years of very minimal and sporadic experience with dual line kites. The nexus is my most recent and favorite, but the wind has been too low the last several trips.
There was just a breath of wind today. And this little gem launched absolutely flawlessly. Then I had to lean to fly all over again as it was so immediately responsive. The kite weighs almost nothing at all.
We had children from the age of 11 up, and two adult beginners give it a go. There was a LOT of crashing and this sweet little thing held up like a champ!
When the wind picked up it was quite a challenge - still not quite enough wind to keep my nexus up.
I'd recommend it as a back up kite for those inevitable no wind days, but not for an absolute beginner as their only kite.

Rock solid value!

The 4D has to be the best package available today in a UL kite. I've flown mine indoors with no trouble whatsoever. I haven't had a need to fly it outdoors in anything over 5MPH as I own a Mamba and an Aerostar SSL+ for those conditions but in 0-5 MPH the 4D shines. It is sturdy but is by no means a beginner's kite so don't ever consider it as one. Tuned correctly it will fly well in a wide variety of conditions. For a smaller kite it's aspect ratio makes it less suited to radical flying but it'll surprise you with what it can do. All in all it's simply a beautiful kite you basically have no excuse not to pop the c-note for.
