Our story began on the Outer Banks in 1974, when hang-gliding pioneer John Harris founded Kitty Hawk Kites to share the thrill of flight. What started as a hang-gliding school grew into a home for outdoor adventure, kites and wind-powered fun.
More than 50 years later, that same spirit guides us: help people get outside, try something new and make memories together. From your first kite to your favorite backyard wind spinner, we’re here to help you enjoy the breeze.
