For beginners, get a seat harness so it won't climb up on you. Seat harnesses will provide better support on your lower back and eliminate back pains. The seat harness also offers a lower hook position, which gives beginners more weight leverage and balance since the pull is closer to your center of gravity.

For intermediate to advanced kiteboarders, select a waist harness for more flexibility at the waist. Preferred for riding toeside and performing rotations or flips in the air.
