The Mark IV hang glider was the predecessor to the Pulse and up until the arrival of the Pulse; it was the best dune flying hang glider around.  The Mark IV hang glider has very similar characteristics to the Pulse and is a great glider for low airtime pilots to gain experience on a double surface glider.  The Mark IV does not have quite the performance as today’s gliders of its class, but it is very close.  Like the Pulse, the Mark IV is easy to launch and land and is very responsive to control inputs. This particular hang glider found its way across the country from the west coast and in fact has the logo of “Western Hang Gliders”, which was the name of the school at Marina Beach, Ca. after it changed from “Kitty Hawk Kites West”. The Mark IV hang glider is best suited for a pilot between 130-180 lbs.
